Now that the Euro has been in place since January, 2008 we are appealing to the Maltese and Gozitan population to send us any notes or coins in the Maltese denomination which are still in findtheir possession. We will change these into Euros at the Central Bank and include them with the funds we raise to help people in need.
So a person can still do a charitable deed even with the last remaining Maltese lira or Maltese coins. Your donation can go a long way in helping to relieve the suffering of others. Maltese coins are exchangeable at the Central Bank of Malta up to 31st January, 2010.
