During the last month, The Malta Community Chest Fund has made an effort to organize new fund raising activities whilst also improving on other events which used to take place in the past. The Fine Arts Auction is one of the latter. This year, an organising committee has been set up to select a fine selection of works of art which should appeal to the more discerning collectors. Most of the works were produced by local artists however a small number were donated by foreign artists who have Maltese connections. In order to further raise funds other donations including sculptures and silverware have been included in the auction.
Prospective bidders would be able to view the objets d’art at Auberge d’Italie in Merchants Street as from the 30th of November where an exhibition will be held in the 9th of December. The auction will be conducted by Joseph Sammut of Belgravia Auction Gallery.
All those who would like to attend the 11th December Auction can book their place at San Anton from the offices of the Malta Community Chest Fund, the Palace, Valletta, by making a 25 Euros donation in aid of the Fund.
